Shooting of Black Men

The fatalities of Black men paraded around the news and within the causes of minority groups to satisfy popular media instead of correcting the problem of how to change the antecedent stimulus only precipitates a problem that will lead to cultural wars and more rioting.

February 26, 2012, marks the tragic end of the life of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin at the hands of a neighborhood watch member, George Zimmerman.

What a travesty of a great program to protect our neighborhoods--marred by such a situation, reminding us that no system of protection exists without the flaws of humanity twisting their ways into the works. What a tragedy in the loss of life; one to the grave and the other to social derision.
As unfortunate as the death of this Florida teen is and ever will be, opponents of the “Stand Your Ground” policies that permit citizens to use force, deadly force to protect themselves in the event of threats use the Martin family tragedy to advance rhetoric to remove it.

Further, this tragedy is complicated by racially charged groups jockeying for a voice in the matter to claim Zimmerman executed the youth due to racial motives rather than shooting while defending himself. Zimmerman was on trial a year later.

A year later and after blatant tarnishing of Trayvon Martin’s memory extended to the august chambers of the United States legislators as one congressperson, Bobby Rush, donned apparel similar to the youth in protest to racial profiling—though the rules of Congress prohibit such demonstrations has faded into history other stories of violence paint the American collective mind with sorrow and anxiousness.

Gov. Deval Patrick, A continued plague of social warfare?

Race may have been a factor in the slaying of the men by police officers. The societal evidence that a large percentage of criminals in the justice system are minorities, with an overwhelming percentage disproportionately African Americans when compared to the 12 to 15 percent Blacks comprise of the US population supports the misconception that Blacks are inherently criminal. Michael Brown and Ferguson... Nothing has changed.
Historical and cultural norms have not progressed enough to assuage the long-held perceptions that people of color are inherently suspicious from the days of racial purity popularly held by the British influences of early America.

These deeply rooted cultural blots bleed into every aspect of American society and every cultural group—lending to the suspicion of minority groups that Caucasians secretly desire to oppress them.
Racism exists on both fronts. Minorities bastardize historical racism with comparisons to implied affronts, while Caucasians diminish or dismiss true instances of racism based on the rancorous claims of minorities that seem to surface so often.
Though morally unpopular, racism is not against the law. We are free to detest whom we will. When we attempt to uphold racist beliefs with action against any group to harm, then it is illegal. America is scarred with prejudice and change comes slowly, very much so.
“I’m sick of unarmed black men being shot by police. We have a great challenge in this country acknowledging the extraordinary progress we have made on race relations ... And at the same time, acknowledging how much remains to be done.” Boston Herald.

Racism?

Zimmerman may have acted on a preconceived belief about Black men in certain apparel when he followed the boy around the neighborhood in opposition to the 911 dispatcher’s advice before he reported defending himself; however, translating his crime into a race hate crime is at best suspect.

Can the same be said about the officers who choked Eric Garner until he passed away? Was his resistance to the police because of cultural norms that led to his death? Did Officer Daniel Pantaleo act on latent racist triggers or was the psychological impact of American culture in play?

Certain elements must be present to justify that accusation. What motivated him internally cannot be proven unless Daniel Pantaleo specifically states that his motivations for using his arrest technique on Garner were because of his African American heritage, or other evidentiary items surface.
In the Zimmerman/Martin situation, no one reported that Zimmerman is multiracial making it a minority-on-minority hate crime proven beyond doubt in a court of law that Trayvon did attack George and not a White against Black hate crime. Though such distinction is judicially moot, social perceptions treat the same matter differently.
In many reports, the items found with the Martin youth are stated with an undercurrent of accusation that lethal force was aggressive. The lack of witnesses to the incident and the psycho-social implication of Zimmerman’s name without reference to his racial identity automatically implant the idea in the collective psyche of America to take a position to fill the gap of information—for or against Zimmerman. A year later, has any of that changed?
This incident did not become the chagrin to the nation further socially. Rational people recognized racial potential evident to the case and avoided it. America has other things to worry about. Trayvon's family is still grieving. Thousands of families grieve because of the tactics of the policing systems in the United States.

The problem the police face is whether to respond with deadly force or not. When a person resists arrest as did many of the fatalities and most arrest ending with brutality, what are the cops to do?

Should they allow themselves to be killed or wounded? Mark Collins was shot and wounded in the line of duty by a Black man, Sheldon Leftenant. Collins was shot in his neck and hip. Rushed by helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital, he lived.

Are Black men being hunted? Leftenant is gang affiliated.  Are police officers being hunted? Did Sheldon allegedly shoot the officer in fear?
Death is tragic by itself. If Zimmerman’s claim is true, which it is decided that it is by the courts, he should not suffer for protecting himself against an aggressor just because that aggressor happens to be Black, and neither should cops suffer. BUT... they should be investigated pervasively!

The “Stand Your Ground” policy should never be in question, but the motives of those who would employ it to veil criminal acts are still out there!
How does it compare to the killing of unarmed Black men by police officers--something that has not decreased over time and is receiving more news? Did those police officers feel threatened by the men because of what they wore? Were the hands up to surrender a sign of aggression. Either way, another minority is shot and killed.

The Character of the Second Term of Barack H. Obama

Democrats Wimps Republicans Wasps

Of course, that is not true! But, the conservative talk media and writers definitely paint Democrats as media puppies that wilt in the sun and float away at the mere mention of war. We have been brainwashed into thinking that if we are at war we want a Republican President because those rich muddled flunkers know how to fight! At least that is what I heard. In peace, we need to have a Democrat because those snot crammed sad assets can manage the peace! That's what I heard.
After pondering President Obama's actions and utterances, I question the stereotype.

As opposed to Clone Wars

Drone Wars?

I came across a funny piece about the "private war" in Pakistan featuring drone killing machines ordered by the evil Barrack Hussein Obama to kill innocent citizens.
I am not sure how much the author embellished the president's support of the drone killings that have occurred in Pakistan, but this doesn't sound like a Wimp Democrat to me.
Pakistan has asked that the drone fliers be stopped. It is our ally, but the orders keep continuing from the top to go out with the drones!
The author of the article calls it a sick fascination with plastic warfare. Seems to me like we might have a Wasp in the White House.
On the other hand, is this an insidious plan by an Obama plant in the news media to suggest to us more conservative ilk that the President has some deep down and dirty Texas Ranger type playboy in him?
He, the president, is working through the CIA secretly pushing the button to kill like playing a video game! Both sound absurd, but maybe.... Dun, Dun, Dun! Dun, Dun-dun! Dun, Dun-dun!

Obama Kills Teens!

The very same teens that hijacked a US ship and held a captain hostage! Seems like Wasp behavior here. You know; stinging things even if they are harmless to you.
I am sure that those starving Muslims would have eventually given up, but President Obama decided to put on his Texas Ranger britches and order them to go to their maker.
That would have sent a clear message to me that as long as President Obama is in office pirating is not a good way to enjoy the new health plan. This tells me two things about the President:
One, he is no respecter of persons based on a religious similarity. People claim that he is Muslim and not Christian. Well, if he is Muslim he demonstrated that his Country means more to him than the brotherhood of some pirates.
Detractors of course would say that he is just pontificating. "He just had those boys shot to convince us that he is not Muslim, but he is Muslim and nobody is going to think that he is not because he killed some!"
I don't know if it is worse that he would do something like that or if the media has our heads so screwy about things with the sensational headlines that cynicism is the new credo for any motive of a politician. Thanks Nixon! See, I am blaming a politician!
Two, he is not the typical Democratic president. He doesn't take flack and he will not take no for an answer! Did I hear a wasp buzzing?

The Healthcare Plan of Great Divide

The president warned that cutting the Affordable Care Act would affect millions of Medicare transactions that have occurred, which would be bad for those on Medicare. Does it matter if the law is unconstitutional though? Opponents say it all must go, but President Obama says leave the parts on Medicare. And it happened! The Justices of the Supreme Court supports the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act.
I do not want to get into the debate of morality and constitutionality but I am.Constitutionality is more important to me than morality. If the law is unconstitutional, I am not concerned with the amount of paperwork the government has to do to overturn the law. If the law were not forced through in the first place there would be no issue with its constitutionality or the morality of putting those Medicare benefits on ice to clean up the paperwork.
What a conundrum! If I force something, I don't know; say a rectangular tube into a circular hole it might not fit well! I am no conspiracy nut, but this one made me question the President and the Justices. They have spoke however and the law is law now.
Maybe the president put the country first and his career last to support a bill that would make it so that all people have healthcare access, millions of covered people.
I do not disagree with the law, only the scope and cost of its application. If Lyndon Johnson had not supported the Voter's Right Law would Black Southerners still be prevented from voting? Does that even compare to healthcare?
No, really, answer the questions because I honestly don't know enough to answer it. I just think that President Obama gets what he wants and is good at it.

Still Mourning Mitt Romney Loss

The more I think about him as president, the more prejudice I see I am. I have never listened to anything about Obama impartially though I thought I did.

I cannot bring myself to think clearly about his motives because I have Rush Limbaugh in my ear telling me he is a communist threat, or Glenn Beck in the other telling me he is a puppet--or even yet some group of Black Purist proclaiming him the new Messiah and singing praises to his name as if he were Jesus Christ!
I did not want another term. I just do not think that he should be cast as a villain when he thought it the best for the country to ram healthcare down our throats. He realized that he could not close Guantanamo Bay or bring the troops home. He started more wars than he ended.
I am so biased I cannot see any good that he has done. Tell me what good has President Obama done! I demand to know!

President Barack H. Obama: Is He Still The People's Choice?

The election is over and tears of joy and sorrow have been shed. President Barack H. Obama is the choice that we Americans have chosen to lead our country. Mitt Romney gave it a good run and the race was close. President Obama was the better choice.
There have been and are bitter feelings by many. There are and have been people who refuse to support the president because they are blinded by their own pride.
Many of us of faith prayed that God would help the best man for the presidency win. Look who God chose to win! I surely did not expect it to be the president, but it is him!
For what special purpose did God answer our prayers by allowing the president to win again? Is this going to usher in some great calamity like many extremist predict and God chose the right person to assist that inevitability? Are we meant to become financially inferior and dependent on China like many conservatives feared?
Or, could this truly be a time for America to blossom and come from under the umbrella of crisis? Lately, things are improving in the economy! These years with the president may not be what we think.

Romney Helped The President

Mitt Romney helped to provide the president with solutions to the problems we have in America. If they were not pointed out before clearly enough for the President and his cabinet to discover, Mitt made a list along with suggestions on how to handle that list of problems.
The wonderful thing about election is that many great ideas come out of the box. Now, President Obama plans to raise taxes and we for certain have The Affordable Healthcare Plan. There is no doubt about this. He said so during his campaign. I am not happy about the healthcare plan, but there is little I can do about that now.
Mitt suggested how we can become energy independent and unite with other American nations to increase our competitiveness President Obama now has the idea to extend the olive branch of business to South America and unite the continents in energy independence.
He said that he believes in increasing our independence. He does not have to worry about reelection. He can more clearly focus on improvement in the nation without the stress of losing a term.
The President hopefully will decide to make moves to unite the divided nation and give the ideas of both parties a earnest go. It may be happening to some degree. That is what I was praying for when I asked for the best man to win, though I did not vote for him.
I support the President of the United States

Heal The Hurt

In his speech, President Obama said that he is going to sit down with Mitt Romney and see how best we can help this country. When he said that, my heart leaped. I knew that God had answered my prayers. I was hurt because I do not agree with the President's politics on certain issue, but I can agree with a man who has spoken healing words to unite us. I had been converted to supporting Obama!
I still have not heard about that sit down meeting--doesn't mean that it did not happen, but I wonder.
Still, I do not agree with his politics on certain issues, but I don't have to if he will be willing to work with us on the things that unite us. Let us join together and work to heal our nation. Heal the rifts.
Because I am a Black man, I have been berated for supporting my ideas and voting against a Black President. I have lived through the accusations that he was not a real Black man.
I have been appalled by the people who worship him as the savior of America in comparison to Jesus Christ and making songs of praise about him. I have hurt because of this, but I also have hope that President Obama will work with Congress to put us on track. He will do as Bill Clinton did and meet us in the middle. I am still waiting for Congress to work with the President.
We will take care of our troops when they return, when they ever return. It seems like Mr. President has started three wars after the one war in Afghanistan. We owe the troops their support.
Call it socialism or not, they should not have to worry about gaining employment or finding a place to live. When the president said that, I was more persuaded that he would be my president too. He will represent all Americans. I am still waiting for that also.
