Rodric believes Moroni included special instruction for Modern times and wants to share his unique perspective the same way Moroni shared in The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ.

Networking to find a Job

All the political controversy means nothing to you when all you study is how to obtain a new occupation.

Government shutdowns and other issues seem to pale in comparison to paying personal expenses.

There came a strong suggestion that my services were no long necessary at one of my places of employment!

It is okay. It happens sometimes, especially in the economy we have experienced since President Bush left office and President Obama took over! It is not the president's fault though.

I miss my old career, but I lived through it, and maintained my links there. I am glad I did. I am still here. I survived the lack of employment because I had a plan. When unexpected things come to life, I mean literally, it is important to have a backup plan to fall on so that you don't disappear.

Networking
One of the most effective ways and probably the most effective way to get a job is networking. Networking through people that we know will help us get a job more readily than searching on our on among strangers.

Choose Good Networking Sources
Now, if you are a screw-up and everybody you know knows that you are a screw-up, try to start a different network with people with which you've had good experiences. If you don't have anybody that was blind to your ineptness then you speak to strangers that share your interests. Interest could be from any thing to knitting to computer programming.

Network to Help Others - Karma
Just because we network with someone doesn't mean that person may directly help us gain employment; however, he or she may know someone who could help. Or, we may become a contact to help someone else!

It is good to keep your name circulated--even when we have gainful employment! We may become the go-to person for people needing floor sweepers or something and gain a reputation as a good contact, leading to even more opportunities down the career road.

Fishing Our Networks

This type of fishing is not malicious but could be considered an act of benevolence! After we build our network by contacting old friends or business partners to seeing if there is common interests, then we start phishing for information and setting up some references and interviews.

We call and ask the people in our networks if we can use them as references. We can offer our professional services to people in our networks. Linkedin has an application that allows people to endorse the people in our networks.

Make sure that keep a record of the skills of our contacts just in case we need to speak for them, we need their services or we can suggest to others their services. The benefit of being in a network is the business opportunities that cone from the shared association.

The Network Needs to be Maintained Even When We Get the job.
Always check with the network. We must make sure we are updating our network members about our experiences and adding new contacts as they come. We never know the good we can cause for someone else or ourselves in doing this. Update and associate always to maintain those connections or eventually they will not be hot contacts for our current skills.

Check Me Out

Today is (((((THE))))) Day!

I have now decided that since my life has changed so much in the last few years I need to put some of those changes out here for the world to view. In doing so, I know that I open up my life to many people to "consider." I am no fool though. I have a wife who will really let me have it if I write the wrong thing, because I have had it so many times in the past.

I just graduated with my master in adult education and want to teach at university, or more realistically, a community college.

What's more is that I enrolled in another degree program! I hesitant to say it, but it is another master degree. This goes against all of my training at the University of Phoenix and my personal philosophy about higher education.

I would never encourage a person to gain a second master degree when there exist doctoral degrees! Standing in the line to have my degree bestowed upon me a fellow alumni called me a career student. I took issue with that label because I have a reason that I decided to do another degree. The only thing is, I based it off personal revelation that may be too special of a nature to put out for the entire public to view at will.

I mention this because I wonder in choosing the right, if we really pay attention to the revelations we get from God and if we understand how to apply those revelations to our current situation without misinterpretation.

I have learned from personal experience that sometimes the things that God reveals to us may not make sense at the time we open ourselves to the revelation; but in time, if we follow the will of the Lord as did Nephi of old, God's purposes will come to our view.

So, today is the day that I remember to trust in the Lord by doing all I can to make it and praying like it is all up to God if I make it in the process. I have always been able to succeed that way. Read my articles at

Border Arizona: What's My Name

Hey fellow internet users.

This book is the first of a series that I will write over the next few months. I decided to start out slowly and make the books short. My wife said that she would not want to read a really long book from a new author unless he or she was already a part of her known good artists. I took her advice and decided to make my long book into a series of short ones.

This first book only has nine chapters and introduces the reader to the characters and the fore-story. I think I made up that word. I wanted the most exciting things to happen in the first book so that the next books could have more content that matters to the reader.

Oh, the next book will be exciting. I don't want to give the details about it yet because I am still trying to get the first book out! I still plan on using LULU.com for my self-publishing, but I also have two other series that I am working on that will not be completed through LULU.com.

Support a new author and check out my book. It will be worth your while, and it isn't a long or tough read, but very entertaining. I know I enjoy reading it, and I wrote it! I am still waiting for my hard copy in the mail though.

There is a button to the right at the top of the page that you can check out the book from. Whatever you decide, I am sure you will get your money's worth and thank me for suggestion the book. Well, of course, I wrote it. It would be odd if I did not recommend it.
